Stupa town Sanchi to soon be India’s first ‘solar city’

Sanchi, a town in Madhya Pradesh, India, is on its way to becoming the country's first 'solar city'. It is home to the famous stupa built during emperor Ashoka's reign and is now equipped with a fully operational 3 MW solar plant for household and commercial needs. Another 5 MW plant is being built to meet agriculture-related requirements.
