Army inducts first batch of Mandarin-trained officers along LAC

The Territorial Army (TA) has inducted its first batch of Mandarin-trained officers to support the regular Army's efforts to enhance expertise in the Chinese language. Five Chinese language interpreters were selected based on their Mandarin proficiency and officer-like qualities and are now posted in forward areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to assist in border personnel meetings with the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The TA is also planning to induct cyber security experts in the near future.
